Which business events in Ukraine should a foreign company attend in autumn 2026?

If time is short and you can make one or two trips, start with these. 5E at the International Exhibition Centre in Kyiv, 13-15 October, is the largest industrial event of the autumn: 12 trade fairs at once, from energy and oil and gas to roads, water utilities, building materials and mining. It is the easiest place to see who in Ukraine is buying equipment for reconstruction and who your competitors already work with.

For an investment view of the country, go to the Kyiv International Economic Forum on 26 October. Tech companies and funds should attend IT Arena in Lviv, 25-27 September. Food processing, packaging and agriculture have two windows: WorldFood Ukraine and Agro2Food, 28-30 October, and AgroComplex, 25-27 November, run together with Germany’s DLG. Suppliers of electrical equipment should look at ELENERGY in Lviv, 18-19 November, where the organiser arranges B2B meetings with buyers.

In Kyiv, September is about energy and industry; in Lviv, it is about technology. At the end of the month the medical exhibition block opens and runs into early October.

There are fewer events towards the end of the year, but they include two large blocks: an energy fair in Lviv and a week of KMKYA exhibitions in Kyiv at the end of November.

Which events have been postponed or have no confirmed dates yet?

Several events that matter to foreign companies do not have confirmed dates yet. We are tracking them and will update the list as soon as the organisers announce details.

  • Defense Tech Valley 2026 (Brave1, Lviv). Planned for 16-17 September, postponed. The organiser will announce new dates and format later. Event website

What should you know before travelling to a business event in Ukraine?

Events in Kyiv and Lviv take place regularly, but the format and logistics differ from a typical European trade fair. First, some organisers, including Forbes Ukraine, RAU and Deloitte, share the exact address only with registered participants, usually a day or two before the event. So you need to register in advance rather than at the door.

Second, dates can change at short notice. In 2026 several defence events in Lviv have already been postponed. Before booking travel, check the date on the event’s own website, not only on aggregators. Third, during an air raid alert the programme may pause and participants are taken to a shelter. Some conferences are already held in halls that serve as shelters; otherwise, ask the organiser in advance where the nearest shelter is.

Finally, logistics. Since 2022 the main route for foreign visitors has run through Poland: a flight to Warsaw, Rzeszów or Kraków, then a train to Lviv or Kyiv. Before you go, check your foreign ministry’s current travel advice and the terms of your business travel insurance for Ukraine.

How do you leave a trade fair in Ukraine with contracts, not business cards?

A typical mistake for a foreign company is to come to a fair to “see the market”. Three days of walking between stands without scheduled meetings produce a stack of business cards and no next step. In Ukraine this is even more noticeable, because the decision is often made by the owner, and you will not reach them through a general e-mail left at the stand.

A different sequence works. Four to six weeks before the event, decide exactly who you want to meet: distributors, EPC contractors, industrial buyers. The exhibitor list of most fairs is public, so you can narrow the field in advance. Then vet the candidates and arrange meetings at the fair or next to it. The trip becomes a series of negotiations, not a sightseeing tour.

Why do some event websites not show an address?

For security reasons, some Kyiv organisers share the exact address only with registered participants, usually a few days before the event. That is why it pays to register early.
